The ****tability problem is not because of various extensions to
Pascal, but largely due to the failure to implement the Pascal
standard in the first place.  Borland is the worst cause of this. 
Notably they failed to implement f^, get, and put in the i/o area. 
There are also many other evil gotchas.

There is no excuse for any Pascal system failing to mee ISO7185.
