Not every programming task is a math problem. (G)UI, input validation,
data
im****t/ex****t and businesslogic take a non insignificant part of the part
too.

I do. But only for core framework parts. Which constitute less than 10% of
my programming hours.

Well, it is possible. But rather at the expense of quality. And IMHO it
has
nothing to do with whether you use an IDE or not. And even that is not
always bad, as long as sb is keeping a tight reign on things.

(and I flatter myself that I have been that one in past jobs)

There is more to software development than language and abstract design.
The
fact that you spend time on your design doesn't preclude saving time
browsing through source looking for identifiers if the IDE can do it for
you.
