I had to guess what to enter in each field, but it seems I
guessed correctly.

I was able to create a new console project with this
suggestion.  When I tried my test module that uses
an un-initialized pointer, the IDE crashed.  I tried
it again and it crashed again.  I started the IDE
again and got "GDB:Timeout".  Then I commented out the
use of a nil pointer and it worked, but it didn't
detect a reference beyond the end of a string.

I couldn't figure out how to turn on range and overflow
checking.  Perhaps one needs to know the command line
options.

What's the difference between "make", "build", "make 1",
"make 2", "make 3", and "make 4"?  How do I change the
compiler options for a single file?
