I don't ever remember CBFalconer giving bad advice. So take mine
cautiously.
On linux, particularly SuSE, FPC 1.0.10 works great. I really like FPC
objects (not cl*****). If you use a nice editor (like nedit) and a
nice file manager (like gentoo) and a nice HTML browser (like
StarOffice 5.2 for fpc docs) and invoke xterm from gentoo, then the
fpc command line compiler is very simple to use (press the keyboard up
arrow to use the bash shell history feature.)
I wish I could be more helpful with fpc2x. I like the intentions and
advancements.
Right now I'm not programming much, but still looking for good Zilog
180 software. There is some old PascalZ I would like to hatch.
