My first programming class was fortran using punch cards. Then
assembly, also on lots of punch cards. My first intro to micro
computers used toggle switches. I was a beta tester for a DOS basic
drawing program. My friends started with Pascal, but I never tried it
until a few years ago. Now I'm a devoted fan of pascal.
The world is full of conspiracy theories, many of them true. I'm not
sure the controlling interests want you to program these powerful
computers, as you can with pascal. So you are given a "virtual
machine" or are confused with C. Fact is, young people are not as
successful today as they were many years ago. Kids are smarter and try
harder, but they are failing to learn programming.
Spread the news, pascal is alive.
