Are others able to search for strings in Delphi .pas files using Windows
Explorer in Vista? If so, how are you able to get Windows Explorer to
search within a .pas file?
An example: I was looking for some old Delphi code examples for how to
work
with the clipboard programmatically.
I searched an old directory of Delphi code fragments (*.pas files -- or
even
all files) for the string "clipboard". Windows Explorer in Vista Ultimate
search returns ZERO hits.
Searching the same directory and files over a VMware virtual network using
Windows Explorer on a Windows 2000 VMware virtual PC returns 26 hits.
These
26 hits were a good starting point. Vista failed completely.
Yes, I've turned Vista's indexing on. I've re-indexed, too. I've looked
for solutions for Vista's search since July 2007, but I still cannot
directly search .pas files. Is a 3rd-party solution needed to "fix"
Windows
Explorer in Windows Vista? What are others doing to search within files
on
Vista?
[I did find a solution to copy tab-delimited text to the clipboard that
could be pasted in Excel as separate cells.]
