Well, how about just open your Excel-4...Excel-XP version, and then
choose to read in .DBF file types.

That did not clarify anything. We are trying to understand what the heck
you are asking and looking in this thread. You could also try to
understand the specifying questions the possible helpers are making
you.  

So is your actual problem to write re****ts from your Delphi app? Or do
you just need to make your app to open your .DBF Tables in MS-Excel? Or
do you just want to manually open .DBF files with your MS-Excel, or
what? 

I think that there is TExcelApplication component even in D5 version
palette, and that should do it. And there are examples to be found in
net, etc. Once someone would first understand what you are looking.
