I get that a lot more than you might think. <G>

There's actually quite a few of them. If you're interested, here's a few
sites for you to explore:
http://www.bbsmates.com
http://www.dmine.com/telnet/
(this site has well over 400 listings-it's
verified and updated every month)
http://www.synchro.net/sbbslist.html
(this is a self-updating site and it
lists Synchronet BBSes only)
That's just a start, of course. There's a lot more places to check, but I
personally know all three sysadmins for the websites (and the webmasters of
the last two sites run BBSes themselves). Synchronet is a very actively
sup****ted and developed BBS software for Windows and *NIX, so that's
active. The Telnet BBS List (@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
) is a list of telnet BBSes that
run all types of BBS software.

That was a configuration mistake for me. I have recently bought a little
1GB USB drive and have set up a "****table office" on it, using software
that I can take with me to work. I sleep 12-14 hours each day, so I don't
use my home computer that much, but I need all of my software with me. I'm
using Sylpheed for email/NNTP, iFTP for FTP, Opera/USB for HHTP...I also
have Virtual Pascal 2.1 on here and need to restore my TP7 image from tape
(yes, tape) to put on here so I can start developing my doors again.
I quit programming for quite some time due to my adjusting to moving and
my new job (just moved here in March), but I've gotten to where I'm set
more into a routine. So I figure I can work on my programming while I sit
at my console...I work for a global satellite communications provider as an
IT specialist, but since we're short-handed, I mainly pull the overnight
network operations center technician slot, so I sit most of the time and
tinker on my computer.
> BTW: Me, too - on the job thing...
I like my job, but it gets kinda lonely at times! But I can concentrate
heavily on what I'm doing also, so that's a good thing.
Later,
Sean
