I just received this message from Dr. Shima in Japan:

     I'm sorry I need to send the regrettable report of Dr. Wakai's
     death. He has passed away at 18 o'clock on March 20 in Japan
     time.
     The wake and the funeral would be held on Sunday, March 23 and on
     Monday, March 24 in Nagoya, Japan.
     I will report the detail to the InterSystems Japan office soon.
     Could you inform of this news the person related to MUMPS and
     MTA, if you know their contact addresses?  Thank you so much.

Dr. Wakai was the main driving force behind the development of the
Japanese
versions of M[UMPS. He will be missed.
