I think there is a mismatch between your expectations and what MUMPS
is.  Strictly speaking, MUMPS provides a data store with a multi-
dimensional / hierarchical associative memory access where the keys
and values can be either numbers or literally any arbitrary sequences
of bytes, and a procedural language to manipulate the contents of the
data store, execute business logic, etc.  You may be thinking of a
database management system, perhaps associated with a declarative
language.

There are many database management systems layered on MUMPS, some of
which are proprietary and others of which are free / open source (such
as VistA's Fileman).
