Opera for Windows is only 32 bit. Like I said, installing the x64 JRE 
(in addition or by itself) doesn't make it work.

Luckily, I don't need Java to work in my browser most of the time, 
except the tax declaration uses an applet. They also have an offline 
version, which I have resorted to.

I guess I have to live without applet sup****t for now. Maybe I'll try 
getting Linux to run again.
