JRE and Opera on Windows x64 bit

by Sabine Dinis Blochberger <iam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 10, 2008 at 09:19 PM

JRE 1.6 and Opera 9.27 on Windows x64 bit SP2

I converted to 64 bits, with Windows XP Professional x64. Only Problem,
The JRE doesn't work with Opera now (both 32 and 64 bit versions).

Using Suns JRE testing site
  <http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml>

I have to install a 32 bit version of the JRE to get the control panel
access. Currently 1.6.0_05. It works in IE, not in Opera.

In the Java control panel, the option to be the default for mozilla
family browsers doesn't stay selected. If I activate the Java option in
Operas content options, it tells me I need to install a JRE (and then
directs me to a page to install the same I already have).

Any solution to this, or is this the issue with 64 bits that the JRE
keeps having?
