Class is the raw type, whereas Class<?> is the parameterized type. Start 
mixing the two, e.g. List<Class>, and you get rare types which causes 
bad ugliness. Most notably, List<Class<?>> != List<Class>, IIRC. I've 
been badly caught by this rare type problem before...
