Java Application Servers

by "Iain Downie" <iain.downie@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 27, 2003 at 09:25 AM

Dear list,

does anyone have any knowledge of the differences between Sun ONE
Application Server and Oracle 9iAS? We currently use the latter on RedHat
7.2, but it has lost it's sup****t. Can we achieve the same deployment of
web
application hitting an Oracle DB with Sun ONE?

Also, does anyone know how much it costs? We are thinking that the 9iAS is
a
bit restricted as it cannot be upgraded to JDK1.4 (bound to 1.3.1), and
have
been thinking about it for some time now. For developement I just use
Tomcat, which seems robust, and we have only one live web server.

Any opinions?
Iain
