There certainly is, and there seems to be more life there than at
PrismTech. I have been talking to one guy at PT who was very helpful
regarding prices for sup****t, but this did not allay my concerns about
the aging bug list, the lack of community response and the PT code
fork. In fact it made me wonder what community there really is for
jacORB other than PT customers.

Well, you could be right there. The response has been disappointing.

Well, that was my recommendation. But I was overruled. The reason
given was that CORBA skills are expensive and hard to find.

I am not so sure. And if I am not so sure you can bet the mgmt are
even less sure since they look to me for advice in this area.

I cannot get them to switch to any ORB for the C++ work. Orbix will
remain. The question is which ORB will be used for java. And it is
beginning to look like it will be OrbixWeb 3.141597925.....

The last time I looked at VisiBroker was ages ago. It didn't know it
was still an actively marketed product.
