Software 7(R) GmbH announced the release of Helen 2, an easy-to-use
JavaHelp authoring tool.
Helen 2 adds a WYSIWYG HTML editor, spell checking, the possibility to
export the complete HelpSet as a single PDF or XHTML document, and
search and replace in multiple files.
Authors are up and running quickly. A graphical installation wizard,
including installation of the Java Runtime environment, is available
for MS Windows, Solaris, and Linux. New projects can be created
quickly with an optional wizard, and help systems from current or
earlier versions can be imported.
Helen enables authors to write content, build and debug a help system,
then publish to a JavaHelp jar file. Helen includes an WYSIWYG html
editor, but can still be integrated with the author's favorite HTML
editor.
Productivity tools include a link checker, system validator, GUI
interface to the table of contents and index, and automatic creation
of a full-text search database.
