Python + Java Integration

by "Chas Emerick" <cemerick@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 27, 2006 at 06:18 AM

Do you like to work in Python, but you need to use some of those really
useful Java libraries that are out there? There is a very simple,
robust solution to this called JPype.

JPype is a python module that enables you to use any Java library. I
blogged about how we used (and later sponsored) JPype, and how it's
good enough that we now ****p and sup****t PDFTextStream (our previously
Java-only PDF text extraction library) for Python.

The blog post (watch out for the URL wrapping in your reader):

PDFTextStream.Python (which also gives some overview of how JPype
works): http://snowtide.com/PDFTextStream.Python

JPype's website: http://jpype.sourceforge.net

I'm glad to answer any questions anyone might have regarding JPype,
PDFTextStream.Python, or any other related issues.

Cheers,
