Actually no, I tend to use Ubuntu version 7.10 Linux most of the time.
Vista
is interesting but boy does it eat resources and need a strong box. I
think
they rushed the o/s out a tad early even after spending a tidy sum in
developement. Understand Vista sales are not that strong. Linux is a fun
o/s coz you can tailor to you liking. Ubuntu maybe not the best but such
works really well with tons of sup****t.
Tried Vista on a 5 year box that had a intel 2.4ghz proc and limited to 1
gig ram; what a joke. You gotta have a new generation machine with lots of
power and memory. My son has a AM2 Foxconn mb fitted with a anthalon 4200
dual core and 4gigs of ram (he likes to play games) and Vista home
premium;
works ok, but Vists does drag on the performance side. Wife has a Intel
Pentium D 3 ghz on a Conroe mb with xp and 2 gigs of ram; xp works
smoothly
and fast.
I find the biggest problem with vista in in world of drivers for thinks
like
printers wireless etc. Mind you, linux has that issue as well.
