I have two machines... one runs on an Intel chip, and the other on AMD.
The
intel machine crashes about three times more often than the AMD. Its true
that intel used to be more stable, but evidently not any more..... plus
the
fact that memory for some of the high fsb intel chips can be a joke to
find
at a realistic price... case in point Rambus 1066mhz. Intel basically
abandoned those who bought those boards when they stopped making ram for
them.... now the ram sticks are more expensive than a new mb and chip.

I also have never really noticed much of a performance differnce....
unless
you want to micro compare math numbers on a bench test [yawn]. I'd give a
million dollars to anyone who can visually tell me the difference between
a
computer game running at 70 fpm versus 100 fpm..... yet some idiot will
invariably spend half his paycheck for that kind of "performance"
increase.

AS for this "quad core" stuff..... It kind of reminds me somewhat of the
progress of razors.... first it was one blade.... then two..... then
three.... So i once joked with my friend... hey, just wait till they have
FOUR blades!!! Sure enough....

Yeah sure its nice to have a quad core if you have a good OS that can
manage
it.
