Java Usefulness

by "Russell171" <RussellDTurner@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 10, 2007 at 03:39 PM

I'm examining Java for a desktop project. I couldn't find Java much used in

the desktop applications, excepting perhaps developer tools. Overall, it
is
the most appealing, but there must be fundamental difficulties, and
perhaps
complexities, non-rapid development, or other issues. Does anyone know of
complex desktop, non-internet software, developed in java, such as
applications in engineering, accounting, science, etc. written in Java?
Thanks
