I'm trying :)

I was suggesting that you simply run the examples using a KNOWN
WORKING CODEC.  Not the Y800 codec.  Verify that the code is working
as expected.  If you can do that, then we know there is an issue with
your specific codec and IDL2AVI and we can go from there.
