Re: end-of-line termination

Thanks for your response. Is this really my only option? I know that I can

also "convert" the file by reading and writing the file in IDL character
by 
character and replacing the line endings. The problem is that this adds 
significant overhead when lots of files 100MB each are written. Therefore
I 
wanted to write the files correct the first time around. I was wondering
if 
adding \r\n to the format statement would do the trick?
