Ralph E. Griswold, creator of the SNOBOL and Icon languages and founder
of the University of Arizona's Department of Computer Science, passed
away October 4th. To honor his memory, the department has established
the Ralph E. Griswold Memorial Endowment. Revenue from this fund will
support the professional development of undergraduate computer science
majors.
