It's definitely not "abandoned".  I's say it has stabilized, and I
appreciate that very much.  (In particular when I think of all the
hassle I have here with customers insisting on specific mixes of
php/perl/apache/database versions.)

I installed a version this year (after a long pause of Iconing) and the
project site is alive, and the source compiled flawlessly on my computer.
I couldn't ask for more.

I also think that the dynamic loading/linking facility helps a lot to
keep the proper Icon language disentangled from the fad of the year.
