Thanks.  I agree about the value of enough vertical context, most
strongly.  Reducing clutter ought to help.

On an earlier point from yesterday, reagrding abstract syntax,
I posted too rapidly.  The book "The Definition of Standard
ML", by Milner/Tofte/Harper/MacQueen, essentially defines the
abstract syntax required.  There must be only the slightest of
deferences between the way this is done in the various SML
comilers.
