GCC 4.2.4 May 19, 2008
GCC 4.3.0 March 5, 2008
GCC 4.2.3 February 1, 2008
GCC 4.2.2 October 7, 2007
GCC 4.2.1 July 18, 2007
GCC 4.2.0 May 13, 2007
GCC 4.1.2 February 13, 2007

Even though 4.2.3 and 4.2.4 appear to be relatively new, there is
too little developer time to back****t bug fixes from GCC trunk 
(aka 4.4.0) to the 4.2.x branch.  The last two functional changes
to the 4.2.x branch were on 2/4/08 and 10/25/07.  4.2.4 is a fairly
decent Fortran 95 compiler, but if you have the choice upgrading
to 4.3.1 may have some benefits.
