My Pickett got lost or stolen undergrad school circa 1972. That's when I
decided to "invest: in an HP-35 (at $395) instead of replacing my
Pickett. My wife still has hers, though.

I eventually figured out that NASA (where I worked) would far rather not
know. They would so much rather not know that they definitely would
blame the messenger. There was a time when I considered looking for
security holes to be part of my job. That was before the time when
finding one mostly made people question what evil you must have been
doing to discover that. Security must have gotten better, because the
number of rep****ts from people finding holes sure decreased. :-(
