Heh Heh, this is interesting. I hadn't realized it included P4's from
Prescott onwards... Apparently OS X implements noexecs too..

I am assuming this extends to 32 bit code, like the descriptions of
what other kernels do.

So I shouldn't have been _able_ to do what I did...

Anyone have a plausible explanation?

Either the
1. new penryn's are not doing it,
2. the linker's got it wrong (but Josh eyeballed the hex)
3. OSX is not doing it

is all I can think of.

You know what I'm going to give this a shot on a FreeBSD with noexec
and see if I get the same result.
