This is absurd. There is more than just featurism. There are hugely
capable programs around.
The capabilities of a modern graphics game are huge. This requires
complexity that is surprisingly well managed. Other example are
-- sorry to say that -- modern weapon systems.

I admit that creeping featurism and compatibility are responsible
for bloat, but they are not the main cause. There is inherent progress
as well.
