You're wrong in that. This newsgroup is a wonderful representation of
subcommunity, there're active persons with their sense, feelings,
and personal relations between them.  Do you mention discussions
on points of disagreement as an argument against it? You're wrong then.
This is the same in any subcommunity, even in the most reserved cases
you meet such "duels of arguments." You either don't have much experience
within human communities, aren't reflective enough, or are too idealistic
in your views, get real, even if you prefer being on-line, separated by 
the computer network, you can see the written reflection of real personal
relations.
