NO, you're reading too much into it. Nobody ever claimed it
invalidated your assertion, all by itself (although it's rather more
of a data point than "I managed to find a drop of liquid in it",
IMHO). But if other people turn up other examples, even two or three
more like that one would probably do it.

And maybe people will - but the test isn't commercial success per se,
or you could "prove" Windows etc. were superior.
VP-Planner was NOT a "might have been", except commercially. It did
all that a clone needed to do to qualify as a successful product, and
a few more things as well. Would you call Foxbase a failed dbase clone
because Microsoft bought it out and kept it in reserve against other
xbase stuff while pu****ng access? In this area, the very fact of
suppression is presumptive evidence of success. P.M.Lawrence.
