Correct but not what I meant to point out.

I refer to the situation where the area outside of the stack
is used as scratch. When an interrupt occurs that data is
overwritten. It happens. It was a long standing bug in the
private Forth of one of my fellow members (of the Dutch
Forth chapter). From your "physical" versus "virtual"
I was not sure whether this could be this situation.
