Interesting set of benchmarks, Ward.

I am a big fan of the MacForth Editor.  In addition to being an
excellent text editor for the reasons you give, for me one of the major
benefits is the fact that I can easily modify its behavior to suit my
tastes.

I was pleasantly surprised and somewhat amazed that with the PPC the
MacForth editor is written in all "high level" Forth.  The performance
remains exceptional.

I would strongly recommend Carbon MacForth to anyone doing Forth
programming on the Mac.  Even though I use PowerMops a lot, I would not
be without Carbon MacForth.
