FSL News

by "C. G. Montgomery" <cgm@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 18, 2004 at 04:03 PM

Skip Carter has very generously given me access to (and responsibility
for) the Forth Scientific Library project files at
http://www.taygeta.com/fsl/sciforth.html
and links therefrom. This means that current versions of the FSL and
associated files can be available at the original and traditional
location (which I think is a Good Thing).

So far, I have made minor modifications to only the introductory page and
the status file, and corrected the errors in the fsl-util.xxx files that
have been discussed previously in comp.lang.forth. I would welcome any
comments or suggestions related to the site, by email at the above
address, or, if of general interest, by postings to c.l.f.

This also means that contributions of new code for the Library can go
through the review process and be added to the Library in a timely
fashion. I think it's best to start with a clean slate, and disregard
submissions made several years ago (whose authors may have lost interest
in them) unless they are resubmitted now. Please send any submissions to
me by email, and I will arrange for reviewing. (The reviewing procedures
will stay essentially the same as they were in the past.)

I'd like to express my thanks to those who publicly or privately offered
facilities for a "new home" for the FSL. In this case I think the best
home is the old home. ;-) And of course thanks to Skip, who started the
whole thing.

regards to all cgm
