You'd better be a bit more specific. What suggested that Eiffel is
that more bad than other languages. Eiffel suffers the same problems
as any non so mainstream language. Additional things were posted here
and on the mailing lists more than once. You still talk about Eiffel
but there's no such thing as an Eiffel. There are different
implementations of languages called Eiffel. So what route should we
follow?
the SmartEiffel Eiffel
the ISE Eiffel Eiffel
something in between?

We had a time in which we had 4 different Eiffel compilers and the
implemented most parts of EIFFEL ETL II. That were Eiffel times, now
we have something else....

Well I suggest you read from those which arguable have done quite a
bit for Eiffel in the past or even now. Then you might get an idea on
what happened to them

Especially look after feature requests and "the answers" of the
vendors some years ago.... Then ask regular Eiffel users how they can
treat existing code....
