You seem to co-mingle the term 'PC' with the Windows operating system.
The first machine referred to as a 'PC' was the Apple ][ in 1979. It
happens that IBM's design for their 'PC' became dominent and that
Microsoft became the majority OS on this design.

But it is only Windows that reboots and uses 95% CPU and has spyware
and virusses. Using the same 'PC' hardware as may be used for a
Windows machine I have systems that have only been rebooted after the
power has failed.
