You have missed the point. Arthur C Clarke had the idea about a
geostationary platform with a suspended elevator. Great idea. So if
the Japanese improve upon it all the credit (for an unworkable idea)
goes to ACC? There is no point in having an idea if you are unable or
unwilling to exploit the idea.
