Sometimes things are missed in face-to-face, and where I work, my
customers are in several different cities.    I like to follow up the
face-to-face meetings with written documentation for their approval.

Sometimes I find out that different users were expecting different
things - even though they were talking with each other as well as with
me - and are conversant with each other's jargon and needs.   The
written "cover your arse" document is important for everybody to check
early.
