I'll have to say that I don't think I've ever Occurs Depending On used
much for internal tables wherever I've worked (at least in the last
couple of decades) - and its usage in data files has been largely
superseded, first with header and detail records, and later with
database access.

But that's only my experience, I can't speak for the industry.
