Glad to hear you again, Al.
It's a long time!
I remember when we were discussing xBase topics on Alaska Software
newsgroup: it was, what, five-four years ago?
What happened to Alaska guys then?
I just had a letter from them some time ago, and I think they sent
even a CD to me, maybe at the end of the last year. I didn't even
unwrap the envelope, but I suppose is the 4th release of xBase
1.9.something...
Not bad, uh?
Was year 2000 or so when I paid for that subscription, if I remember
well.
In the mean time I switched to dBase Inc (now DBI Inc) wich I'm still
using today.
I found dBase Plus (2.21 and 2.25) very useful to interface with
DBMax, a Clipper-like web interpreter that is powering a large project
of Traffic Authority of my town (Florence, Italy) and other large
projects of City Council, where I work as consultant.
I'm not using Clipper anymore, at least not the compiler, but I do use
Clipper language almost everyday.
In facts I still earn my living with it! And I have very few
competitor on place, I must say.
Ah, good old clipper! I started 1987 and I'm still going.
Cheers
Hfufna
