Yikes,

If you're going to convert Clipper to a dot NET app..... use Visual Studio

and Vulcan.  ( Vulcan is at least an xbase language and would convert way 
faster than a complete rewrite to VB ).

There's a free trial at http://GoVulcan.net
which includes Visual Studio.
