But don't you get that "for free" when logging in at the server's
desktop? Doesn't everyone log in on the server with his/her own
credentials and get his/her own desktop just like when sharing a local
computer? Then all settings would be in the user profile. Or do they
all log in at the server as the same user? Then it would be difficult
to lock them out of certain directories no matter what you do after
login. This sounds like something that should be solved on the OS
level when connecting to the server rather than on the application
level.

BTW, even if you get a copy of Funcky and set those environment
variables easily with putenv() I am not quite convinced that Clipper
will take notice. I originally thought that you wanted to set some
variables (not knowihg which ones) so the exe itself could retrieve
them later on. But I suspect that the Clipper runtime checks the TEMP
and CLIPPER variables once and for all and never bothers to check them
again. After all, having the environment changed while the application
is running isn't likely to be something that the guys at Nantucket and
CA would expect. I could be wrong, of course <g>.

Regards,
Klas
