OK, so you are trying to direct scratch files that Clipper makes 
(and you have no control over) to another directory.  I hope this 
is not being directed to a USB "pen" drive for "security".  Those 
solid state memory devices are only good for a few tens of 
thousands of write cycles.

I could have sworn xHarbour had that as a SET function within the 
language.  But it doesn't.

An alternative is *if* the user is running in WinDoze, the user 
account in WinDoze can have its own environment settings.

If you cannot get the other libraries to work...
