Thanks for all the interesting stuff about xBase, guys, but recoding is
not an option at this point;
our DOS products are on life support and I'm the guy who makes sure the
plug doesn't come
loose too early. All I can do is tweak the environment so the EXEs (now
at least 5 years old) will
continue working as well as can be expected.
Most of our customer base is on our newfangled web-based thingie that uses
some horrible
mass of Visual-this, Visual-that, and Visual-everything-else and no
Clipper or any other xbase at
all. I'm just trying to help out the loyal but dwindling customer base
who for a variety of reasons is
not able or ready to make the jump yet, and need to keep the old DOS app
gasping for another
year or two.
