Hi US VO Folks,
I find myself in a town near Atlanta for a couple of weeks in June doing
a major DBF to SQL conversion job. On the weekend 21/22 June we planned
to do some VO training for the local VO team but thought we would open
it up to outsiders if there was interest. Kind of an impromptu User
Group experience. There are only 6 of us involved at this point and
because the exercise was designed specifically for one company, we had
an agenda organised for their needs. However if others are interested,
we can widen the plans.
Here is the current topic list (two tracks over two days using one other
US identity):
.. VO internals - deep GUI class design
.. DBServer performance enhancements
.. DBF to SQL conversion concepts
.. Using SQL Master to generate code for VO SQL apps
.. Web services: building them in VO and C# and consuming them
from VO
.. Using web services to remotely update DBF and SQL databases
from VO
.. VO tips and tricks
.. Advance message debugging with VO
.. bBrowser on steroids
.. Interfacing legacy data systems to MS Outlook and MS Word
.. Sharepoint: what is it and what is the relevance to VO'ers
.. Integrating C# components into VO - extending VO into the Dot
Net world
There are very few costs: we need to hire two small rooms, some food and
some equipment so depending on numbers, we would probably ask for
$150/day for outsiders but we can pack a pretty serious agenda and hand
out some very useful source code. We won't be publi****ng the material to
non-participants because it will belong to the company flying me over
for the main project but these are all application concepts that my
company has been working on these last two years and helps us stay in
front of the pack.
I want to thank Gregg and his crowd for offering this op****tunity to you
guys - concentrated VO resources like this don't come along often these
days. Please only respond to me by email to geoff @[EMAIL PROTECTED]

.. com . au and I will put you in touch with those who need to know.
Given we are already doing this for a small number of people, there is
no chance it won't happen so we don't mind how few others may or may not
be interested. It is just an offer from an op****tunity.
Cheers.
