I have not converted one of our Source Safe projects to 2.8 yet but this
is
what we do in 2.7.
On your "connected" workstation:
1. Get the latest version of the application, libraries, etc.
2. Create AEFs from the latest versions.
On your "disconnected" workstation (usually a notebook):
3. Im****t AEFs from your connected workstation.
4. Make any source code modifications you need to make.
5. Ex****t modified modules to MEFs.
On your "connected" workstation:
6. Check-out desired modules.
7. Im****t MEFs from disconnected workstation.
8. Check-in newly im****ted modules.
If you want to add an extra layer of security, add step 2a by checking out
any modules you will be modifying on your disconnected station so that
when
you im****t your changes, you don't overwrite someone else's work. The
modules should remain checked out until you im****t them from your
disconnected station and then check them in.
HTH,
Greg
