Yes. Upgrade to 2.8 - seriously, Tony, this is the best option. You are
using a version more than 8 years old and most of these kinds of bugs
just aren't there anymore. And being so long ago, I suspect most people
will have forgotten and certainly removed the workarounds we had at that
time.
But I don't think this is a bug. Your code should work exactly as
described. Think about it: where are you when you do the key down? You
need instead to use KeyUp or listview item changed or some similar
method. I only have 2.8 so I don't know which of those methods existed
back then.
