Well, it shouldn't really cause too many problems, should it? It violates 
the Principle of Least Surprise, but hardly in a way that would delay code

comprehension for very long for anyone reasonably competent in C.

Fine - but I don't think that applies here. I agree with you - *and* with 
Richard Bos - that this is a darn silly thing to do. But if you are trying

to suggest that it might cause accidents, I think you're overstating your 
case a little.

Yes, it is. It is connected to that part of the real world where an 
understanding of C matters. That isn't a colossally large part of the real

world, but it *is* a part. Other newsgroups deal with other parts of the 
real world. There is more to Usenet than comp.lang.c!
