It's a nice hypothetical example, but that's all it is -- hypothetical.
If it actually happened that way, then one would profile the browser
and find out where the time went, and address the problem. I very
much suspect that sizes of integers would be a non-issue in this
case.

In the kind of C code I've written, I think that would be
almost nowhere.
