You should find that different compilers for the same O/S on the same
H/W platform have the same byte order, as that use usually an
architectural issue on the m/c, and they tend to work one way or the
other. However, you can't rely on them having the same word size, or
the same bit order - and that last can even differ between compiler
versions (from painful experience).

You can't be too certain about byte orders under different O/S - some
CPUs have the ability to run in different byte orders, and the O/S
picks which one it wants. It is possible that an O/S could offer the
facility for individual programs could run with different byte orders,
though I haven't yet come across a system that actually offers that.
But if one does, then all bets about byte ordering between different
compilers are off.
